Starting on Windows Vista (and all subsequent desktop and server releases) Microsoft added enhanced security to restrict the activities normally performed by an Administrator account.
An Administrator account must be used in order to access the Access Control pull-down and Configuration shortcut within the Management Group.
The following errors may be encountered when trying to access these Administrative level functions of the client:
"Execute access to Configuration was denied."
"You are not allowed to add Configuration definitions."
To allow the JAMS Client to always launch as an Administrator right click on the JAMS Application icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Privilege Level - and lastly place a check-mark in the highlighted section below:
Also right-clicking and running prompt or session without going into the GUI, works as well. - fyi.
