Custom Alert with same Event type does not work

When creating a custom Alert, if there are two alerts with the same event type the custom Alert may not work. Before making any changes please confirm the following:

  • The proper email has been assigned to either the Notify Names section of the Alert or the Job

  • The Alert has been assigned to the Job properly; you can verify in the Alerts section of the Job Properties or the References section of the Alert Properties

  • Two Alerts with the same name will not work, the name must be unique

After verifying the above, an Inheritance Name can be added to the Alert. An Inheritance Name is used to group Alerts together. Specify a unique name in addition to the Alert Name.
